Can you believe?!

It has been two years and I have come to the end of my term here in Kenya. Wow, my life for the past two years has been amazing! I am very sad to be leaving Kenya, my family, friends, and ministry here. Kenya and the people have my heart.

The Lord has blessed me and used me in more ways than I would have ever imagined.

Please know that all the prayers, words of encouragement, emails, and letters have had a huge impact on me, ministry, and life here in Africa. Thank-you so much for being on this with me. It has made a huge difference in me! :)

I am leaving African soil today. I am asking that everyone would pray as Sarit and I travel. Pray the I adjust to life back in the States. I know the Lord has gone before me and I am looking forward to the sweet time of reunion with my family and friends. I am so blessed to have had such a supporting family not only over the past two years, but during my entire life.

I am looking forward to seeing what the Lord has planned next for me in my life. I am leaving part of my heart here in Africa. My heart's desire is to do career missions, so as I go home to do seminary and prepare for this, just continue to pray for the Lord's will to be done in my life and for me to be obedient.

Please remember to pray for Kenya and the people of Africa. Also, continue to pray for rain in Kenya. The rains have already begun, which is an answer to prayer.

Happy Birthday Mama!!

Today is very special day -- it's my Mama's 50th Birthday!!
I am so proud to have a Mom like you.
You are always there to listen and to show you that the glass is half full rahter than half empty.
You are in love with Jesus Christ, He chose you.
Your laughter, love, smiles, and love for Christ are always plenty.
I am so proud to have a Mom like you.
You are my best friend.
You are cachin', play, shopping, walking buddy.
Even though the garmin team is fuddy.
I am so proud to have a Mom like you.
Look at all you have done in your life.
You have gone after your dreams.
You are the Proverbs 31 wife.
Your life beams!
I am so proud to have a Mom like you.
Looking back on the past 50 years.
I know you have lots of memories, laughter, and tears.
Now we can look ahead with no fears.
I know it will be filled with love, laughter, and one the Lord will steer.
I love you Mama.
Happy Birthday!!!

Help Bring Sarit Home Fund

As you know, I adopted Sarit from the streets of Nairobi, Kenya over two years ago. She became my companion and friend when no one else was here. I cannot express how much it would break my heart to leave her behind. To that end, I have started a "Bring Sarit Home" fund. I have to raise an additional $500.00 to bring her home as I have to find an airline that is pet friendly. I have tried to find a home for her, but due to restructuring and economy of my national families, I fear Sarit's fate will be to return to the streets. I cannot bring myself think of this. I know this seems silly, but Sarit has been my sole companion for two years and holds a very special place in my heart. If you would like to be part of the "Bring Sarit Home" fund, it would be so very, very much appreciated. You can send donations to:

Listen to our hearts

This is a song that one of the volunteer team members sang. It really touched me.

Listen to our Hearts

How do you explain,
How do you describe,
A love that goes from east to west,
And runs and deep as it is wide?

You know all our hopes
Lord, you know all our fears
And words cannot express the love we feel
But we long for You to hear

Chorus:
So listen to our hearts (oh, Lord, please listen)
Hear our spirits sing (and hear us sing)
A song of praise that flows (a simple song of praise)
From those You have redeemed (from those You have redeemed)
We will use the words we know
To tell You what an awesome God You are
But words are not enough
To tell You of our love
So listen to our hearts

If words could fall like rain
From these lips of mine
And if I had a thousand years
I would still run out of time

So if You listen to my heart
Every beat would say,
“Thank You for the Life, thank You for the Truth, thank You for the Way.”

Maasai Mara

The last few days the team was here, we took them to Maasai Mara. The Mara was incredible. We got to see some of the migration of the wildebeest and zebra. However, the Mara River is really low. In parts of the river it is dried up completely. They say that if it doesn't rain the hippos and crocodiles are going to be in danger. Please continue to pray for rain for Kenya.

The Lord really blessed us during our time at the Mara. We saw lions, cheetahs, elephants, bush babies, zebra, thomson gazelle, hippos, crocodiles, snakes, birds, giraffe, and a black rhino. It was such an amazing two days.

We all enjoyed it so very much!
